Instructional Strategies

The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to access and appropriately apply information.

Artifact: I chose to include the slides from week 4. These slides describe  discipline, procedure, routines, and how those all effect students learning. This is also how behavior problems become preventable and the type of teacher you want to be for your students. There is a difference between being proactive and reactive in the classroom and it’s key to understand that early, so your students can be aware or mentally prepared for everything going on within the day. With less time spent on discipline and conduct more time can be spent on curriculum and small group work.

How it connects to the standard: I chose to include these slides as my artifact. This are full of super valuable information connecting instructional strategies and produces. The two work together to make learning happen.During the first 4-6 weeks of School there is no learning but more so adapting to school and getting into a routine. students need to feel safe in comfortable in the classroom before academics can come into play. If you have a foundation of trust and predictability students will have a much easier time transitions to full time learning. You want to classroom to feel home like. and have a sense of belonging, that is a parallel to leaning as in the material and content will need to find its home in the students.
