I chose to link my first project, “The Trauma Lama” because it proves my understanding of content knowledge but also in a way that can be translated to future students. That is the reason I chose to do this assignment through book creator and in the light hearted theme of a children’s book. This information is so important and I want to be able to share it with my students. I created a learning experience that can make comprehension accessible, regardless of how complex the theme of trauma is.

The book goes into detail explaining trauma and how it may look different in everyone. I chose to go with the theme of a lama, so students go relate to it and see parts of themselves without feeling exposed. The book also touches upon stressors, and what stress is. The original assignment description was to prove your knowledge of trauma in any kind of outlet. We had creative freedom and I know a children’s book would capture the content while making it digestible. This correlates with the “Content Knowledge” standard because it is described as,” teaches and creates learning experiences that make these aspects of the discipline accessible and meaningful for learners.” That describes my entire project and how meaningful the content is.
