The link above is the video shown in class regarding the 5-E Model for Teaching Inquiry Science. This model describes different kinds of assessments, instruction and engagement. I will be reflecting the specific evaluation phase, as there are many different ways to assess students knowledge in science. THE 5-model includes 1. engagement. 2. explore 3. explain 4. elaborate and lastly 5. evaluate. This method of teaching science is very similar to how real scientist lear and conduct experiments, so why not infiltrate that same method into the classroom. If we get students into that routine early, it will be easier for them to conduct and get work done over time.

This connects to the assessment standard because as educators we need to be held accountable and make sure student knowledge is demonstrated. But, where thing get interesting is in the WAY you can have students show their content knowledge. When it comes to science the sky is the limit. Student can make observations, predictions, conduct and design experiments! So many students learn best by activity doing, and that is where science can take the lead and curiosity can take over the classroom in a positive way.
